Great food, service, and ambience. Great place to hangout and have a light dinner and drinks with some friends. Can be a bit loud for some but too bad. Cool spot if you're downtown.

Sons of Liberty Alehouse is a hidden gem in downtown Livermore! As a fish n' chips fanatic, I've been searching for a place whenever I'm in the Tri-Valley area. I finally found it, here! I made reservations through Yelp when I met with a client up in Livermore. We started out with a blackberry mojito, the artichoke and jalapeño dip with baguette slices. It's served on a hot cast iron mini skillet with an artichoke heart on top. The dip was rich, creamy, and temperature hot. I should have asked for more bread or tortilla chips to finish the dip. We both ordered the fish n chips which was amazing and well worth the $23. You get two big pieces of flaky wild Alaskan cod fried in an IPA beer batter. The crust was light and crisp. The lemon caper homemade tartar sauce was perfect with the fish, I had to ask for extra. I upgraded to their garlic fries which came with a generous amount of garlic. I also ordered a guava mojito which was just as refreshing as the blackberry one I had before dinner. The restaurant had a great vibe to it with their wood plank walls. The bar was well-stocked with an extensive whiskey, bourbon, tequila, gin, Mezcal list. If you can't find street parking, I recommend the free parking garage on Railroad Ave between First Street and Livermore Avenue. It's only a 2 block walk through the Bankhead Plaza.

We came here on a Friday night and it was busy, it was early too 6:30pm. We asked to be seated outside and they gave us a heating lamp. Service was slow maybe because they were short staff but we understood. I ordered the Blitzen an IPA and it was crisp and refreshing. Then we ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The we're tasty and the burger was juicy, a safe and must order if you're not sure what to eat. I would love to come back and sit inside to appreciate the ambiance.

Bloody Mary, brunch and brew. Yes, please. Laila was great it was my birthday. It was all good. Chorizo avocado toast. Loco Moco, Eggs Benedict, coffee. Topped off with an amazing pumpkin beer.

This is a hidden gem downtown Livermore. Ambiance is lively with a great 80's playlist! It has a clean, neat vibe. The service was impeccable. Our server offered suggestions and was very attentive. The menu is upscale bar food aka great selection of starters, salads, and sandwiches, and the drink selection is massive with tons of top shelf liquor choices and crafted cocktails. I might add that ingredients are locally sourced. Our party of 4 ordered blood orange margaritas and apple cider Moscow mules. Both were perfectly mixed and perfectly refreshing. (We'd love to have the recipe for the mules!) Our entree choices included fish and chips, prime rib sandwich with Parmesan garlic fries and grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. Each of us remarked that our selection was the best and all agreed that this one of the tastiest meals ever. Thank you SOLA! We cannot wait to return.

Been here a few times over the last couple of years. I love the ambiance indoors. I wish the tables along the back wall weren't on top of each other and I really wish the wifi worked even just once, because their menu is a QR code. The food is really good, but not better than anything around. Give it a try, at best you'll get your phone to pick up the food menu right away and love what you order, and get a good laugh from the quotes in the extensive drink menu/"bible." At worst, you will probably still come back at some point when you're in the area for a cocktail at a nice spot with friends. I'm starting to believe that you can throw a stone in any direction and hit a good restaurant in Livermore. This one included. So lucky to be here!

Cheer yee, cheer yee! My Dad, pup, and I had a splendid time at the Sons of Liberty! After a busy and quite hot workday, we were looking for a dog-friendly place to dine for dinner. My Dad had wanted to eat here, so it all worked out. Reservations are available through Yelp, but we chose to walk in. Since we came with my puppy, we sat at their small but cute outdoor patio. There are several tables outdoors, making eating in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The dining area inside is also excellent; it looks very comfortable and low-key. All of the interactions with staff were friendly and helpful. Our food came out efficiently, and we were checked on throughout the night. With the number of alehouses in Livermore, the American fare can get tiring, but not here! Aside from having traditional American food like burgers and sandwiches, they also serve various innovative dishes. I got the Duck Carnitas Tacos (no cheese), which were phenomenal. I didn't know what to expect, but everything was superb--the portion was massive with a lot of meat, the duck was well flavored and creamy from that tasty sauce, plus it had an excellent quick with the jalapeño! I could eat these endlessly. My Dad had their Maui Wowie IPA Beer Battered Fish and Chips. I had a bite, which was so lightly battered that it was airy. The fish was mild and tender, and the upgraded garlic fries were a chef's kiss. There are plenty of noteworthy places to dine at on First Street, and Sons of Liberty Alehouse is one of them! I'd come back again in a heartbeat with my Dad and pup anytime. Given their location off First Street, we chose to park in the nearby free parking garage.

We got to this SOLA branch right at opening time but still could not get a good seating inside , so we chose the the side patio, which was quiet and away from the main dining area and bar. But it did not matter. Service by Bee and other wait staff was prompt and courteous which made the experience all the more wonderful. This is what we ordered : 1. A glass of Orange and Peach Bellini each - both stiff and yet so delicious. 2. Poutine - we shared it between us both and ate to our hearts content and yet had a huge amount that we took away to have the next day. Super Crispy hand cut Fries, extra creamy Sonoma cheese curd and that "to die for" House Beef Gravy made the first experience of ours of this Canadian dish a most memorable one! We will come back just for this! 3. Chorizo and Yukon Potato Hash- Hobb's Chorizo, Sweet Yellow Corn, Caramelized Onion & Peppers, Pickled Fresno Chiles, Avocado Lime Crema, Green Onion, Cilantro with 2 perfectly Poached Eggs (gf). Wife loved it! Again portion was huge and some of it was taken home for a mini meal later in the day! 4. Eggs Benedict- Wingen Bakery Sourdough English Muffin, Hobb's Canadian Bacon(removed), 2 perfectly Poached Eggs, Hollandaise, Chives, Brunch Potatoes. I enjoyed every bit of this! Next time will have it with the bacon ! 5 . We also ordered a side of Housemade Breakfast Pork Sausage Patties. This was a find! So flavorful so tasty, it was gone in a jiffy! Overall we found this place a very good value for money. We will be back sooner than you think!

I'm not sure what took me so long to write this review, but I've been to Sons of Liberty at least 10 times now and this review is long overdue. It's hands down our favorite spot in Livermore. You can never go wrong with their cocktails! For our appetizer, we usually order the ribs and they are perfect! We've had the artichoke dip before and it's tasty and addicting. I usually get the grilled cheese with tomato soup for my entree, but yesterday I tried the peach and arugula salad and OMG it's the best salad I've ever had! The flavors work well together wonderfully! The ambiance never misses! The staff is always super friendly. You gotta try Sons if you haven't. I always leave happy and with a filled belly!

Definitely coming back! The food was delicious, the ambience is cool and the service was excellent. We ordered: - Crispy ribs: must try! Sweet, crispy and tender - Artichoke dip: nice kick from the jalapeños but not too spicy. The fried artichoke on top was a nice touch - Fried chicken sandwich: the bread was soooo good. A really good sandwich. -Fish Tacos: so much flavor! And sauce, a bit messy but so worth it. Loved the pickled onions. Would definitely come back and I definitely recommend this place.
